Training
in Pilates is for the individual looking to achieve balanced, total
body conditioning. With an emphasis on the muscles of the
body's center, or "powerhouse," The Pilates Method strengthens
and stretches the whole body while teaching muscle control.
A regular semester of 60-minute classes is 10 weeks long and progressive.(Summer
and Holiday Semesters differ.) Class size is limited to 7
students to provide enough individual attention. Classes are held
on Wednesdays and Fridays. The Friday Intermediate level at 9:30
is for ongoing students and those who have taken the Basics class.
The Wednesday 9:30 Basic level is for both absolute beginners, those
with some experience who need to review, or those who need to work
at a slightly slower pace.
Experienced
students may come as a drop-in to any class on a space-available
basis. Missed classes may be made up in any other class offered
at The Abbott Center.

Integral
Yoga is a mixed level class. Monday morning class from

UP AND RELAX. If you are feeling stress in your life, if you have
aches and pains, if you have trouble sleeping, or if you are feeling
low on energy our INTEGRAL YOGA CLASS is a perfect class for you.
So many yoga classes are simply focused on the poses. Integral Yoga
integrates the experience of the total you by focusing not only
on the body but on the breath and the mind. Through this approach
you will discover the source of your stress so that you can wake
up to a deeper awareness of what it means to be alive. You will
find yourself relaxing even in the midst of all the activities of
your daily life. This is not just a yoga class. This is learning
how to use the yoga practice as a guide to becoming more in tune
with yourself. The classes are small and held in a beautiful, quiet
studio so that the instructor can focus on individual attention.
All levels are welcome, including beginners. No matter who you are
or where you are in your life, if you want to wake up to your true
self and relax into the moment, this is your yoga class. If you
