Healing from chronic headaches

During the treatment of Melinda W., suffering from years of chronic headache pain, she told me that one of the most important things she learned in her healing process was to “touch the places that hurt.” That’s a hard thing to do when it causes more pain, but holding pressure on places that hurt will release some of the muscle tension and help relieve the pain. Doing so regularly between Neuromuscular Therapy treatments will speed healing.

Melinda also said that “touching places that hurt” applied to other things in her life. She found that by venturing into sensitive emotional places and touching the pain there helped her address those issues and release some of the mind-body connections of psychological tensions that were contributing to her chronic headaches.
